So you could only imagine my excitement when I was accepted to be an official blogger for the Walk Fashion Show for Access by NKC, a Philadelphia based PR firm. For those who don’t know about Walk Fashion Show, let me give you a quick lesson about this company. Walk Fashion Show was founded in 2009 by Daishawn Franklin and Crystal Bailey, to bring a new fashion scene to their hometown of  Detroit. Since then, Walk Fashion Show has been very successful with having over 2,000 of the most stylish attendees from the metro Detroit area and beyond attend their shows. Not only have they held successful, sold out shows in Detroit but also in cities such as New York, Miami and Atlanta. The show in New York for NYFW was no different. Designers, stylist, models and more from all over was at the Church of Apostles for the Independent Designer Showcase.

Speaking of designers, it was an array of designers from children's wear, to couture that was ready to show their skills on the runway. Some of my favorites were The Amme Collection, C Denim and Tyleah Miller Collection but all were just as fabulous as the next. Even before hitting the runway, I was able to take a sneak peek at some of the collections and I was very impressed of what I saw. With all of a chaos, and yes I do mean chaos, that was backstage, I did enjoy my time mixing and mingling with designers, fellow bloggers and even some of the models. Going through all of the madness of backstage was definitely worth it when I finally saw the show. With the church's interior and Walk Fashion’s name stamp on the runway with huge letter spelling ‘walk’ at the beginning of the runway, it pulled together a very clean and polished aesthetic with that added boldness that represented NYFW. Even though, I didn’t stay for the full show, I did enjoy myself and loved what I did get to see. I’m already excited to see what Walk Fashion Show has to offer next season.
