If you are looking for style to help you be one with your self then Haute Mama is what you're looking for. I first discovered this cool boutique on Facebook and fell in love ever since. Haute Mama is for the mommies (or woman with busy schedules) who are still looking to put some zen in their life while doing it in style of course. Think Free People but on a friendlier budget. What I love most about this brand is the story behind it. So, I had to interview the owner of this awesome brand, Valarie Sanders to get some insight on what Haute Mama meant to her. Check it out below.

As another year comes to an end, I look back at all the people I have connected with in the creative world. It was great meeting new faces and planning collaborations with them for the new year. But there is one designer I have not connected with yet but it is my goal to do so. Her name is Tatiana Myers and she has a beautiful clothing brand, TDM Clothing.

New Beginnings: Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself
I’ve been away for a long time and I think it’s time to let you know why. I’ve been spending a lot of time in school and completely dreading it. For the past two and a half months, I have been spending my time in class, at work or in my bedroom thinking of all the work I have to do. The worst part about it all was that I believe the work I was so stressed about wouldn’t help me grow as a person. In fact, it made me go backwards in my process of growth.

The Link Up: Weekend Edition
This weekend has been a hard one for me.
The stress of getting my Etsy store up and running on time, creating a whole new look and vibe for my blog, and getting ready for all the new opportunities presented to me has been very stressful. Being an artist can be very demanding and you may not have time to yourself, so I decided to do a link up feature to some articles that got me through this week.

Style on a Budget: Confessions of a Shopaholic
In the words of the all great Carrie Bradshaw
"I like my money where I can see it, hanging in my closet".
Well, with a mindset like that, it has left me broke many times. *sighs* Even when I don't have the funds to shop til I drop, I always find myself stuffing more clothes into my already packed dresser.

Let's Talk: Getting Through Grief
Last week was rough.
Day by day it seem like more and more violence was happening for senseless reasons. To say people were outrage would be an understatement. Rightfully so. The consent trend of police brutality and violence has gone too far. It should have never gotten this far to begin with. With so much hate in the world, sometimes it's hard to stay positive. Well, I thought I would share some insights on how to get through the grief of negativity.

My Summer Bucket List 2016
Every year since 2014 I have written a summer bucket list.
This idea was inspired by reading one of my favorite blogs, Free People Blog and ever since then I have been hooked. My summer bucket list has been getting shorter and shorter over the years. At first, I thought I was just getting lazy. But then I realized I rather just let nature run its course and go with the flow.

Odunde Festival 2016: Street Style
Anybody who knows me knows that I love attending the Odunde Festival every year.
The essence of the festival and the energy it brings is just wonderful and something I just have to witness each June the festival comes back. I love walking around, meeting new people, seeing all the beautiful fabrics, jewelry and people. Eating the food and listening to the music, watching the performers. It serves a great energy to unite the African-American community.

Foodie Adventures: Recap of Dining Adventures
Anyone who knows me knows that my two favorite things are food and fashion. Like Carrie Bradshaw says, "I like my money where I can see it" and for me that is in my closet and on my plate. So, when I was invited to two amazing events where I can sample food and cocktails while celebrating the summer opening, I almost drooled at the chance to be there.

A Mother's Day Surprise! Ella Vanilla Review
When I was emailed about a cake decorating class, I knew I had to jump on the opportunity.
While writing and fashion are both passions of mine, baking have always been a hobby I enjoy doing every once in awhile. So, to be invited to take this class was very exciting for me. Of course, the day of the class, my bad luck started to show and I was running late due to the bus..again. *sighs*

Queen of the Clubs: The Golden Era of Club Fashion
Picture of the Club Kids 90's |
Sometimes music can evoke a spirit or nostalgia of a time just by listening to one song. That was the case for Azealia Banks 'Queen of Clubs' track from her awesome new mixtape, Slay-Z. Listening to that song just made be want to dance and have fun. It also made me think of a time I wish I could experience for myself. The Golden Age of New York.

Skyline view of Hong Kong, China |
There are many things people add to their bucket list. Run in a marathon, become a millionaire or even do something
outrageous like jump out of an airplane. There is one thing I know for sure I
want to do and that is travel. I’m sure I’m not the only one that desires to
see different places and experience different cultures other than the one you live every day.

A Night of Black Excellence: Avant Garde Art Exhibit
Amazing artwork from artist @yesitsjayagain |
Last month I was invited to attend an amazing art exhibit celebrating Black History Month and local artists in the Philadelphia area. After attending a few art exhibits and showcases myself, I must say this was one of the best art shows I've been to in awhile. It was great music provided by June Lopez, delicious food catered by Twice the Spice Caterers & Chef Bernard Caterers & Son and amazing art from many different artists across Philadelphia.

Weekend Editon: Prom on a Budget!
Prom season is around the corner which means its time to grab those wallets (and maybe a book or two to kill time) and go shopping for her or his grand day. Personally, I did not attend my prom. For the fact I was home schooled my senior year and didn't know anyone, I saved myself from a horrible night. Plus, I couldn't imagine what I would wear, especially for the prices they were offering for prom dresses. This doesn't have to be your faint, thanks to Wardrobe Boutique!

And I'm back!
I've been having such a good (and hectic) semester this go around, I also forgot I had a blog. Oops! Well, I'm back to share such an inspiring moment from the beginning of the year. I was recently looking through photos on my phone for inspiration for one of my homework assignments, when I saw some pretty cool art work. Then, I remember the awesome Fabric Museum & Workshop art exhibit that I visited not too long ago, Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit.
