On Saturday, February 11th , Stellar Lifestyle was invited out to cover BlackOut Fashion Showcase, organized by Kareem Cox. This was Kareem’s first of many fashion shows to be curated within his brand Tour de Force. Tour De Force was founded to help talent reach the next level by providing a platform for it. This event in particular gave Black designers in the NY, NJ and Philadelphia areas the opportunity to be featured and supported by their local communities.

Sometimes procrastination can happen. Especially when you have been working long hours for 2 weeks straight while being incredibly sick. It's bound to happen. But one thing I never want to do is not tell the story of an amazing brand. I first was approach by the owner of Thrift Element Apparel Co, Desiree, through email to attend her amazing pop up shop and of course I was excited to attend. Once I did my research I realized it was more then a cute clothing brand but it had a deep message that needed to be heard, especially during these times. Even though I wasn't able to physically make the event, I still wanted to share the story of Thrift Element and why its so important to support this brand. If you’re in the fashion industry then you know that NYFW is the most important event you can attend for your career. All of the movers and shakers of the industry attends these fashion shows and after parties and use them as their own networking event. Plus, to see all of the hottest upcoming style trends on the runway is a bonus to such an astonishing week of fashion and fun.

On Thursday, January 12th I had the pleasure of attending ‘The Collaboration 2017’ event held at the WeWork Northern Liberties co-working space. The event was hosted by Michelle Nichole and sponsored by Mastered, a talent company for creatives in the fashion industry. The host of this amazing event is Michelle Nichole, a hair artist, founder of Bounce Dolls, Mastered Ambassador of Philadelphia and all around girl boss. I was very intrigued to attend this event just based on her credentials alone. So, when I was able to secure a ticket for this show, you can only imagine my excitement!
